Who we are
Founded in 2017, SOFIMA is a French company specialising in the design, development and production of automated solutions for the foundry industry.
We support our customers at every stage of their project, from assessing their needs to on-site installation and achieving the desired performance. SOFIMA solutions are designed to improve productivity and quality, while guaranteeing user safety.
We are involved in all stages of the foundry process: from the automation of unloading and assembly cells to core-making and the integration of robotised machining lines, not forgetting of course our core business of casting with our various moulding lines. We are also involved in finishing and finishing.
SOFIMA offers many innovative and robust solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers.
For SOFIMA, each customer and each project is unique. We are committed to listening to our customers and providing personalised support throughout the project with a single point of contact. Our agile organisation enables us to guarantee our customers fluidity and responsiveness.
As suppliers to subcontractors in the automotive industry, we help to ensure that our customers meet some of the most demanding criteria in the industry by guaranteeing compliance with the QCD constraints of our projects.

Our history
After working together for several years for a manufacturer of automated lines for foundries, Cyril SOYER and Fabio FORMICA decided to go it alone in 2017 and set up SOFIMA.
SOFIMA's values are based on the desire to provide a real plus for its customers through technical expertise and personalised support. SOFIMA's commitment is to respond to all the problems of its foundry customers by providing relevant and appropriate technical solutions.
Cyril SOYER, Chairman of SOFIMA, has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a professional Masters in Applied Economics and Management with a specialisation in Entrepreneurship. After working for 3 years in French foundries as an industrialisation methods engineer, he joined an Italian company manufacturing automated lines for foundries, where he stayed for 4 years as a project manager in the sales office.
Fabio FORMICA, SOFIMA's Technical Director, holds a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Brescia, Italy. He has over 20 years' experience in the light alloy foundry sector as an automation expert for a manufacturer of automated lines, during which time he was responsible for the electrical design (hardware and software) of complete automated lines and their commissioning on site.
